New Addition
Committee Profile Study
I. The mission of the New Addition Committee Ministry of Augustana Lutheran Church is to enable the congregation to better accomplish its mission of Christian ministry with our community. II.
The Congregation authorized the church council to
appoint a building committee on The committee met sixteen times to develop plans and solicit bids. The addition plan includes: Accessibility to the basement, a larger narthex, adequate space for the pastor and secretary, additional Sunday school rooms, a separate choir room, restroom on the first floor, and updating the heating system. Four bids were received. The two low bids were within $122 (Bussler Construction and Salonek Construction.) The committee recommended the bid from Bussler because it included local contractors.
III.
After negotiating with the Bussler Construction the
base bid was $171,817. The project
estimate including architectural fees and printing costs is $211,705.The
congregation accepted the base bid and Alternate #1 from Bussler Contruction
on IV. The project is scheduled to begin in May and be completed in September. The congregation is excited about the building addition and the new opportunities it will make available to promote Christianity in the Gibbon area. Property
