Augustana Lutheran Church Youth League Profile Study I) The mission of the Augustana Youth League is to provide youth with opportunities to live out their Christian faith in this church community, the local community and the world. II) The ministry of Augustana Youth League A) Monthly activities 1) January – skiing 2) February – 3) March – Spaghetti Dinner (a) proceeds fund activities throughout the year (b) donations are made for items the church needs 4) April – Friendship Sunday (a) invite a friend to worship 5) May – Twins Game 6) June – August - Valleyfair 7) September – meeting to plan activities for upcoming year 8) October – trick-or-treat for Unicef 9) November – bowling 10) December – decorate and deliver cookies, carol at the nursing home and homes of local residents B) First mission trip to Leech Lake Indian Reservation (July 2005) C) Pack food for “Kids Against Hunger” III) Goals 1) To encourage more youth to become involved 2) To become more involved in local community events 3) To become more involved in service-type activities 4) To involve youth more is Saturday and Sunday services 5) To help the youth keep Christ in their lives everyday and to help them realize that faith is for every day life experiences 6) To become involved in the SW Minnesota Synod Jr. High Youth Gathering 7) Annual Mission Trip
