Music at Augustana

Augustana has an active music program, led by our organist and choir director Pat Ericson. We worship using a rich variety of musical styles.

Sunday morning worship is a traditional service led by the pipe organ and the Senior Choir. The StarChoir, Sunday School Choir, and Men's Gospel Choir also provide special music.

Our Saturday Night Worship uses the "Rock Hymnal 2" liturgy by Christian rock composer Jay Beech. We've got an instrumental ensemble, and a vocal group to lead the music.

If you'd like more information about Jay's songs, write to him at baytonemus@poboxes.com, or visit the Baytone Music web site.

Augustana's choirs

StarChoir is our youngest choir, students in the primary grades. They practice to get ready for special seasons -- look for them at Sunday morning worship around Christmas and Easter.

Sunday School Choir prepares special events throughout the year.

Senior Choir is our Sunday morning worship leadership standard. The group has an expanding repertoire of modern choral music. Most years, they also offer a special Cantata for Christmas or Easter.

The Men's Gospel Choir sings country gospel music. The group has performed at community events and at neighboring churches, and when they're singing Sunday mornings that's always a treat.

Our Christian rock band, "Image of Light," leads Saturday night worship. Their repertoire includes songs by Jay Beech, Dakota Road, and Amy Grant.

Dakota Road publishes contemporary Christian music which suits small worship leadership ensembles. They're good folks to work with.
