(There's a green sign for Augustana on the corner.)
Go west on 7th Street three blocks to Cedar. You'll see the church

The parking lot is on the north side of the church.
We have spaces reserved for visitors near the steps.
We believe that God has come to us in Jesus, whose cross and rising broke
the power of death.
We believe that the power of God is at work now, when people are changed by the
message of Jesus.
We believe that Christian communities share that hope and that power, as we
learn to trust God and love each other.
We intend to learn hospitality toward strangers who are seeking faith as we
are. As companions on the journey, we learn discipleship.
We intend to serve our community, as a congregation and in our work, our homes,
and our involvement in community organizations.
We gather to hear God's message, share baptism and holy communion, and pray. We
go out into our community to serve others in our daily lives.
Following up the congregation's vote to proceed toward a new addition, the Building Committee has begun its work. The next meeting will be Tuesday, September 14, 7:00 p.m.

Augustana has an active music program, led by our organist and choir director Pat Ericson. We worship using a rich variety of musical styles.
Sunday morning worship is a traditional service led by the pipe organ and the Senior Choir. The StarChoir, Sunday School Choir, and Men's Gospel Choir also provide special music.
Our Saturday Night Worship uses the "Rock Hymnal 2" liturgy by Christian rock composer Jay Beech. We've got an instrumental ensemble, and a vocal group to lead the music.
If you'd like more information about Jay's songs, write to him at baytonemus@poboxes.com, or visit the Baytone Music web site.
Augustana's Choirs
StarChoir is our youngest choir, students in the primary grades. They practice to get ready for special seasons -- look for them at Sunday morning worship around Christmas and Easter.
Sunday School Choir prepares special events throughout the year.
Senior Choir is our Sunday morning worship leadership standard. The group has an expanding repertoire of modern choral music. Most years, they also offer a special Cantata for Christmas or Easter.
The Men's Gospel Choir sings country gospel music. The group has performed at community events and at neighboring churches, and when they're singing Sunday mornings that's always a treat.
Our Christian rock band, "Image of Light,"
leads Saturday night worship at 7:30 p.m. Their repertoire includes songs by
Jay Beech,

Dakota Road publishes contemporary Christian music which suits small worship leadership ensembles. They're good folks to work with.

New
High School / Young Adults
These are years when youth give serious attention to issues affecting their future. Awareness of their new physical, mental and relational powers lead to experimentation and idealism.
Choices and attitudes are constantly challenged and reviewed.
- Stay connected to their friends, know them by name, and include them in your prayers and concerns.
- Include ethical, political and environmental topics in your conversations and wonder together how God's love and presence shapes those concerns.
- Recall, maintain and create family and seasonal rituals and worship that keep meaning and celebration alive in your relationships.

Sermon Box
Every week somebody takes the Box home. You can put whatever you want inside it! And whatever we find when we open the box on Sunday -- that's what the first part of the sermon will be about.
Sunday School
Sunday School is at 8:45 a.m. every Sunday morning.
The Lord brings us back to
we are like dreamers,
laughing, dancing,
with songs on our lips.
... Lord, bring us back
as water to thirsty land.
Those sowing in tears
reap, singing and laughing.
They left weeping, weeping,
casting the seed.
They come back singing, singing,
Holding high the harvest.
