Doms and Dommes
How to Address Them

How should I address Doms and Dommes?

Simple basic answer:  by name, and the courtesy title "Sir" or "Ma'am".    Sometimes the "Sir" is part of a Dom's name, but if it isn't it should be added.   Examples:
KylaT:Kyla Ma'am
Sir_Brax:Sir Brax
Hard_Trainer: Sir Hard Trainer or Hard Trainer Sir
Always capitalize the name, and the "Sir" or "Ma'am".

Use both name and courtesy title, so everyone knows who you're talking to, except when answering a question, as in "yes Sir" or "thank you Ma'am."

Do I say Sir or Ma'am every time?

   Yes.

Can "Master" be used in place of "Sir"?

No!   Use "Master" or "Mistress" only when speaking to your own Master or Mistress.

But what if her nickname is "Mistress_Proud"?

Just say "Proud, Ma'am".   No one should expect to make you call them "Master" or "Mistress" just by putting that in their nickname.

Must I speak the Dom's whole Name? Like "Lord_of_the_Far_Northern_Realms"?

No.   Many subs would simply say "Realms, Sir".   A courteous thing to do is to check "Name" the Dom's i.d. card.   There may be a short form given there.

Many Doms and subs have accepted short nicknames.   Today, as I write this, examples are:
MasterinUTis UT
Daemon_Azathothis DA
VP_Copis VP
KylaTis Kyla
LordofyourThighsis LoyT

What do I do if a nickname is something I don't want to say?

Don't say it.   You are a person, with your own standards.   If someone named "Sir_BigPrick" shows up, he's not a Dom, because he doesn't show any courtesy or sensitivity toward others.   Just ignore him.

What other courtesies should I show to Doms and Dommes?

Every Dom/me should be properly greeted when they enter the room.   Example:
KylaT: hello A/all
proper_sub: hello KylaT Ma'am
KylaT: hi, proper

It is courteous to greet subs and others when they enter, too

I see people saying "A/all" or "E/everyone". What's that for?

Capital letters are used for Dom/mes and lower case for subs, so "A/all" is used when speaking to both.
